Tranquility Convalescent Homes Develops new model of care with Telemedicine
November, 2009
Tranquility Inc of Concord, CA has initiated pilot testing of Interactive Care’s LTC TM. With four Long Term Care facilities in Northern California, Tranquility Inc plans to use LTC TM to decrease the number of unnecessary patient transfers by allowing physicians to evaluate patients at any time, for anywhere. LTC TM will also allow Tranquility Inc the ability to give patients an additional way to communicate with family and friends.
“Interactive Care is an exciting and extremely useful program that affords residents and families the opportunity to communicate via web cam and stay in touch with loved ones that are not local.” said Velda Pierce, CEO of Tranquility Inc. “Even more important it allows loved ones to participate in patient care conference without physical attendance and doctors can evaluate residents in real time.”
“We are excited to partner with Tranquility, and benefit from the vision and leadership of Ms. Pierce and her team. This will be the first use of telemedicine in a skilled nursing environment to address multiple resident needs and process flows. The potential benefit and impact on the industry is significant,” noted Michael Z. Jones, President and CEO of Interactive Care.
Tranquility will be using LTCTM from Interactive Care to manage care conferences, consultations from off-site physicians and consultations with residents’ families
